APOK Derailed - Synopsis

Global political conspiracies were a myth, until Colonel Miguel Mejia – aka APOK – discovered an organization named the Sons of Liberty. Tracking down its members, his investigation started succeeding until an explosion left him beaten, bloodied and broken. Drowning in pain, strung up in a hospital bed at a top secret military facility he volunteers for a radical new therapy.
Forcing himself to recover, he struggles through the pain. The Colonel grows frustrated watching highlights of the election of a new world leader plunging society into chaos, with heavily armed groups jockeying for position. As APOK’s strength returns, he realizes his hospital is not what it seems, his captors give him a choice: complete his training and kill the leader of the world, or watch his family and friends die.
Should Miguel succeed, he dies a failure; if he fails, he lives long enough to know he failed those closest to him; if he escapes, can he survive long enough to expose the truth?
APOK Derailed is the second in Walton’s trilogy of epic thrillers. Spanning the globe, it leaps from one heart-stopping scene to another, painting a vivid picture of the world of tomorrow.

After reading Apok I waited with much anticipation for the release of Apok Derailed. It did not disappoint, a suspenseful action packed page turner from beginning to end. In our current times of uncertainty it's an awesome thriller in the battle between the forces of good and evil and those who seek power. Micheal Walton is a much needed Canadian author who writes with both passion and suspense. I can’t wait for the sequel.

Michael Walton offers a convincing narrative of a plot almost too large for life. As Colonel Mejia dives into conflicts of multiple levels—personal, political, physical—Walton's audience is whisked along on a wild ride of fascinating battles as well as unbelievable twists and turns. Walton is certainly a master of pace... Walton demonstrates incredible talent and a real knack for the thriller genre. I hope he will continue to build on his success so far and write incredible thrillers in the future. I certainly think that Walton has access to a niche audience that there are not enough books to appease. I hope he will continue to evaluate his publicity efforts and get the APOK trilogy into eager hands.

An exciting and captivating sequel to the first book from this debut author. Lots of action, descriptive fight scenes, well formed characters, fluid plot line with unexpected twists and turns. Can’t wait for the final book of the trilogy to find out how it ends!
